BASEMENT!!!!

At some point the sewer backed up (yucky) and flooded the basement; so, for our first day we decided to tackle the basement (it is still an on going project). The sign we found while cleaning pretty much summed it up:

We kept the sign.

Here are some before pictures:

The side door may need to be replaced.
There is literally so much crap in this basement.

There's meat soup in that chest freezer; it should get us through the Duluth winter.
Sh*tter's full.

Some of the trash we removed from the basement:

15 55-gal trash bags
We filled a 15 yard dumpster in about an hour with mostly basement junk.
After working on the basement clearing out debris and shelving, Kevin and Matt taking out most of the appliances and sweeping it out, here is what it looks like now:

We still need to clean up this special area that includes the overflown toilet and the freezer that was never cleaned out!

When we get electricity (we got water Wednesday which was an adventure all its own) turned on and our sewer pipes checked out we plan to bleach and power wash this bad boy, then it will be almost good enough to eat on!

  1. Grandpa Bud says the after pictures look a whole hell of a lot better than the before ones. But.... we are still not ready to come over for dinner. Keep on, keepin' on!
